The
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Bala Mohammed has
vowed that the FCT Administration would go ahead with the demolition of
31housing estates in Lugbe, a satellite town in the nation’s capital.
The Minister who made the affirmation made this known while defending
the FCT's 2013 budget, where he stated that his administration would
make good its threat to demolish the estates despite an order by the
Senate Committee on FCT that the FCT Administration stop its plans to
demolish the estates.
On Saturday the 28th of September 2012,
officials of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) rolled out
their bulldozers and demolished 500 units of Minanuel Estate.
