10 Killed In Road Accident Along Damaturu Road

About ten people lost their lives in a road accident along Damaturu-Gashua road in Yobe state, north-east Nigeria.
The sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Yobe state, Mr Shehu Umar, confirmed that the bus had a tyre bust before it summersaulted and went up in flames.
The sector commander cautioned drivers against over speeding especially at this time of the season when the temperature is always tense and uncomfortable for vehicles and tyres.
The Secretary Damaturu Specialists Hospital, Alhaji Habu Sani also confirmed that a mass transit bus conveying passengers from Gashua to Damaturu the state capital had the accident in Tarmuwa local government area along the Damaturu – Gashua highway.
He revealed that three people were burnt beyond recognition while seven others died from various injuries they sustained in the accident.
The corpses according to him have been deposited at the Specialists Hospital mortuary waiting for claims from their relations for burial.
The incident is coming barely four days after 20 others were killed in another accident in Dazigau village seven kilometres to Potiskum, the commercial nerve centre of the state
