Mystery! 7 People From The Same Street Killed In An Attempt To Cross Highway
A unidentified driver along Abeokuta expressway at Mongoro bus stop in Lagos around July,2012 increases the  number of the people  that has been killed from the same street in an attempt to cross highway to seven. The last victim was identified as Kabiru Akinbode who lives with his mother at No 2, Adeboun street, off Mongoro bus stop.

A close source revealed  that Kabiru left home around 10pm after he returns from work to see one of his friends at the other side of the road. After crossing one side of the highway, an unknown driver hit him in attempt to cross the second side of the road. Another coming vehicle ran unto him and he died instantly. It was gathered that the two drivers did not stop and the people at the bus stop could not help the situation because the ever traffic logjam road is easing off at that time of the day. The source told us that Kabiru is an apprentice in one mechanic workshop three street away from where he lives. His master spoke to us on phone that it was a big shock because Kabiru come to work on that day and it was almost 7pm before he left for home. The master  said he received the news of his death around 11;15pm. "It was shocking because we all closed from work on that day around 7pm. Kabiru was just one of the best apprentice  i ever had because of his humility, truthfulness and consistent. We mourn him for seven days before we later resumed back to work" The master said.

Another source Mr Muritala Salawu who is a friend to Kabiru's brother Mr Hakeem Akinbode told us that Kabiru was the seventh victim of the "hit and run" drivers from Adeboun street in less that five years. " When i was called by Kabiru's brother Hakeem, that his brother has been killed by an unknown driver at Mongoro bus stop, i quickly drove my bus to the place and he was dead already before i got there. i begged  some people at the bus stop to help taken him to the other side of the road. As we got to where he lives, the landlord  refused that we must not take the corps inside the house and i slept outside with the corpse overnight before we left for Alabo police station, Dopemu the following morning for police report" The source added.

Another person from the street said that there is a need for pedestrian bridge in that area because that area is a residential area ." It would be traumatic that somebody that just left home has been killed by the hit and run driver. This place and the likes needs overhead bridge and we are calling on the concerned government to do something about it" The source said.

Kabiru according to the source was buried in the following day at Jafojo cemetary, Agege.
